- 1 pound chicken breast
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (plus more for bread)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (plus more for bread)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup sliced pickled jalapenos (optional)
- 3/8 cup fruit juice or broth (instead of Frank's RedHot)
- 4 slices Provolone cheese
- Ranch dressing
Instructions
- Chill the chicken breast in the freezer for 30-45 minutes before slicing thinly.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Butter the insides of hoagie rolls and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add onions and jalapenos; sauté until soft (7-8 minutes).
- Arrange hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.
- In the same skillet, add sliced chicken seasoned with garlic powder and salt; cook until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in another tablespoon of butter and fruit juice or broth until the chicken is well-coated. Top with Provolone cheese until it melts.
- Assemble sandwiches by filling each roll with chicken mixture and toppings like ranch dressing.
