  • 4 tbsp cold butter (cubed, for streusel topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9 baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy; add in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Alternately mix in the dry ingredients with the milk until just combined; avoid overmixing.

  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. For the streusel topping, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cubed cold butter until crumbly; sprinkle on top of the batter.
