Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup strawberry jam or preserves
- 20–24 wonton wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add a dollop of strawberry jam to the center of each filling portion. Optionally, fold in diced fresh strawberries.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of filling on each wonton wrapper and seal the edges with water.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wontons in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm with whipped cream and extra strawberry jam.
