Ingredients
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups flour (150g)
- 1 cup sugar (additional)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk (your choice)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Zest of 1 orange
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk (for ganache)
- 1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, olive oil, orange zest and juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the optional ganache, heat the milk in a saucepan until warm; add chopped dark chocolate and stir until smooth.
- Once cooled, drizzle ganache over the cake before slicing.
