  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm milk and eggs while mixing, then knead in softened butter until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. While dough rises, mix cream cheese with sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cream cheese filling evenly over it.
  4. Roll up the dough into a log and twist halves together before placing in a greased loaf pan to rise for 45 minutes.
