- 8 oz linguine (or spaghetti)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Optional: Chopped fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon zest and juice; let simmer for about a minute.
- Add drained pasta and reserved pasta water to the skillet. Toss until well-coated, then season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in grated parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Garnish with herbs if desired. Serve immediately.
