  • 2 1/23 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 34 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp cloves

Instructions

  1. Warm milk until hot but not boiling; stir in melted butter.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, yeast, spices, and salt.
  3. Add milk mixture, molasses, and egg; mix until combined to form dough.
  4. Knead dough until smooth, then let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about an hour.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle and spread melted butter over it.
  6. Sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with spices; roll tightly into a log.
  7. Slice into approximately 12 rolls and place in a greased baking dish; let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven and bake rolls for around 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. For frosting, mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and milk until smooth; drizzle over cooled rolls.
