Ingredients
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 1 & 1/4 cup old-fashioned whole rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1.5 tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Scoop out dough in large balls onto a prepared baking sheet and gently press down each ball to about one inch thick.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes until set but still soft in the center. Cool on the baking sheet for about 20 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
