Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté diced bell pepper and onion in olive oil for about 5 minutes until softened.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Layer half the meat mixture in a loaf pan, followed by sautéed veggies and four cheese slices. Cover with remaining meat mixture and top with four more cheese slices.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until cooked through.
- Allow resting for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
