Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs, room temperature
- 4 – 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 5 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup – 2/3 cup pumpkin butter
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter for frosting
- 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 3 Tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by melting butter and mixing it with warmed buttermilk and yeast until bubbly. Add sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and eggs; mix well.
- Gradually incorporate flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- For the filling, combine softened butter, pumpkin butter, sugars, and spices in a separate bowl.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly across it and roll tightly into a log shape; slice into individual rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
- While cooling slightly, prepare frosting using maple syrup and powdered sugar; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
