- 1 approximately 15-ounce box red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients specified on the box such as eggs, water, and oil)
- 8 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate
- ½ cup heavy cream
- Powdered sugar (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the ganache by heating heavy cream until simmering, then pour it over chopped semi-sweet chocolate. Stir until smooth and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line muffin tins with cupcake liners.
- Prepare cake batter according to package instructions and fill liners halfway.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized ganache balls into the center of each cupcake batter.
- Bake for 20-23 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick inserted from the side.
- Cool briefly before serving with a dusting of powdered sugar.
